If you're new here, welcome! I'm Steph and I LIVE for traveling. There's something so exhilarating about exploring a new place. Last week, we took a little out-west expedition that included a stop in Napa Valley.
A REVIEW OF ANDAZ NAPA
For our stay, I partnered with Andaz Napa which exceeded any and all expectations. We flew from Denver to San Francisco, rented a car, and made our way about an hour north to Napa. Upon checkin at Andaz, we were offered a glass of wine so I enjoyed Cabernet and started to fall in love.
The Andaz Napa lobby is very distinct combining an earthy vibe with an upscale feel. Along one wall, a map mural of Napa highlights a few hot spots in this California town. The lobby bar lines the other side where you can enjoy pre-dinner drinks. In the center, a wood cutout that looks similar to the tree of life makes a path to the elevators that take guests up to their rooms and the lavish outdoor terrace.
We entered our room surprised to find a two-way fireplace that divided a living space from the luscious bedroom. I grabbed a complimentary water from the mini-bar knowing I needed to hydrate before wine tasting the following day. Water in one hand, wine in the other, I turned the corner pleased to find a huge marble bathtub and I knew that was going to be the first thing I'd do. The bathroom was set up well featuring a marble and wood wood vanity with plenty of storage for all my necessities. A rainfall shower head completed the luxuries in the bath area.
A second glass of wine and a tub full of warm water allowed me to take a breath and relax. Those moments are few and far between for me so I appreciated this luxury stay at Andaz Napa. The natural lighting allowed me to read a few pages of a new book I started, Girl Wash Your Face, while I soaked in the tub using the provided bath salts and shower gel.
Before dinner, we decided to check out the terrace on the second floor. Rocking chairs, a fire pit, a bar, cabanas, and a small stage for live musicians line the property. Also exceeding all expectations, I finished off a glass of Sauvignon Blanc under a cabana while the sun was starting to set.
Located downtown Napa, Andaz is near delicious restaurants and a few tasting rooms. That first night, we walked down the street to Don Perico for fish tacos and a burrito. Exhausted from traveling, we found ourselves back in the room getting ready for bed around 7:30. I fell into the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in (no I'm not just saying that) while we watched Ocean's 11 using the Chromecast capabilities on the room's television.
The following morning, we woke up after sleeping nearly 10 hours and decided to order room service. The two egg breakfast arrived about 30 minutes later with orange juice, fluffy eggs, gluten free toast with strawberry jam, chicken sausage, and hot potatoes. I proceeded to get ready for the day and off we went.
Soon, I'll be sharing the details on what we did including tours with three wineries and a sit down tasting with a winemaker all set up by Doug from Beyond the Label. I'll also share where we ate and details on what you need to know to plan your Napa trip.
Our stay with Andaz Napa was carefree and extraordinary. It was wonderful to be able to walk all over downtown Napa knowing we had a beautiful place to stay at night. If you're planning a trip to wine country, I'd highly recommend a stay with Andaz.
*I partnered with Andaz Napa for our stay, however all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the hotels that allow me to explore new places and share the experience with you.
