How is it already the last week of July? This year is flying and fall is upon us. Honestly, fall fashion might be my favorite so I'm excited to share this post in collaboration with VICI Collection today.
It's entirely too warm for heavy cardigans and likely will be until September. In the meantime, there are a few simple ways to transition your wardrobe now. Check out six looks below that I've put together with VICI with fall essentials that you can actually wear now.
Basics are the essentials your wardrobe needs. This comfy grey tank is a piece that you can style by itself like I have here or you can layer it with jackets and cardigans as the weather cools. I also love this tank because it's loose fitted, you can do the front knot or front tuck, and dress it up if you choose. I added a pop of red with my mules to give some color to this look. Denim is another essential and you'll see these jeans with almost every look in this post.
If a classic button down doesn't exist in your wardrobe, I'd recommend this one. This is a piece that you can wear all year. In the fall, you can layer this with a utility vest and heading into winter, layer with a cardigan. I also like to wear these tops in the summer with denim shorts. If I added a classic pump here, this look would qualify as business casual. If I added a sandal, I'm ready for a weekend on the lake.
Dressed Up with Chiffon
This chiffon top immediately caught my eye on vicicollection.com. I love that it combines edgy cutouts with a romantic chiffon fabric. It's available in several colors, but I loved the navy for fall. I've also styled this top with a tan suede skirt and tucked the top in. That was a great way to wear this on an 85 degree day. This look is a classic for a casual date night at one of our favorite local restaurants in Indy.
City Chic Vibes
Let's chat white after Labor Day. It's kind of an outdated view at this point and I say go for it. All white, all year long. If you want to explore with a little bit of white, this top is a great way to incorporate the color in your wardrobe. The twist front is so fun and gives me some shape in an otherwise flowy top. Unfortunately, the white is sold out in this exact style, but here it is in navy and VICI also has a few others like it here and here. I styled this with a nude backpack which is so versatile. I love using a backpack as a purse especially when I'm traveling.
Rompers are kind of my go to at this point in the year. First of all, I love that it's one piece I can throw on and do what needs to get done in my day. Also, it's not a dress which means if I'll be shooting or moving around a lot, I don't have to worry about showing the world my underwear of choice for the day. This particular romper is adjustable around the waist and around the shoulders. Also, it was the perfect match for my new favorite mules.
Little Black Dress
I say this probably way too much, but you can't go wrong with a black dress. This one has a longer sleeve with a delicate ruffle detail. I love the wrap waist on this one too because it actually fits me. Some wrap dresses are a little weird on me, but this one was perfect. I styled this with a black wedge also from VICI to complete the dressy vibes I was feeling here.
So to summarize, when you're transitioning your wardrobe think "back to basics" and add those pieces that you can wear now and later. Mix those in with a few statement pieces until the weather makes a choice on what temperature it will actually be outside.
VICI has some of the best pieces and I've loved working with them to create all of these styled looks for you guys.
Cheers to transition pieces and style tips,
