Happy Trendy Hair Week! Some of my most frequently asked questions revolve around my hair and today I am trying to answer all these hair care questions for you.

I thought it was appropriate to do my hair week this month because I was featured in the Indianapolis Monthly Hair Issue. Shout out to Marie, Gwen, and G Michael for making me a local hair celebrity.

Anyway, this Hair Care questions post is going to be in Q & A format because I thought that might be easiest for you guys.

1. Do you have extensions?

Answer: Yes I sure do! I am so in love with them too. Thanks to Marie of Extensions by Marie for giving me the best Great Lengths Extensions. Keep reading for more details on these.

2. What products do you use?

Answer: I use multiple products for drying, styling, etc. If you click here, it will take you to my Amazon page which features all of the products I use and you can shop easily. However, with beauty products, I always recommend visiting a local salon to purchase. If you see a high end product online for much less than it might be at a salon or direct from the vendor, be hesitant. But, I know some of you enjoy shopping online for the convenience.

3. Who colors your hair?

Answer: Gwen of Wild Roots Salon colors my hair and has been since I was a senior in high school. We've done everything from blonde to ombre to dark brown until I finally decided to go full red.

4. What color does she use?

Answer: Well, we can't give away that secret. But, I bet Gwen would help you achieve the best red for you if you contact her!

5. What color is your natural hair?

Answer: My natural color is a light brown.

6. How do you curl your hair?

Answer: My Hot Tools curling iron does wonders. I'll be sharing a tips and tricks blog post later this week. But what I can tell you is that your tools make a world of difference. If you want to check out this video and watch me do it, go for it! It's a routine that takes me 10 minutes or less.

7. Are your extensions a lot of maintenance?

Answer: My hair is a lot of maintenance in general being that it's red. My extensions are great because they stay in my head for 4-6 months and I'm not always nice to them. I take care of them just as I would my normal hair. I brush them regularly, I use quality products, I wash my hair at least twice a week, I give myself a full blowout at least once a week. All of those are things I would do normally. I will say, product matters. You can't use drugstore products on these and I wouldn't use those on my normal hair anyway.

8. How much do your extensions cost?

Answer: Marie does her pricing based on length and number of bundles. I refer everyone to her for pricing questions. She offers a free consultation and doesn't even care if you come back six months after the consultation. She wants to make sure you are comfortable with your hair investment. Great Lengths are the Prada of hair extensions and Marie would tell you that my price has a comma in it.

9. How do you keep your red color?

Answer: I use a red shampoo once a week to add vibrancy. I also use a conditioner that Gwen gets for me that almost kind of re-colors it. I use that whenever I feel like the red needs a significant boost because it kind of turns my hands red, but it washes out with a few soapy rinses.

10. What's your go-to style?

Answer: I curl my hair more often than not. I've always been that way. I don't really like it straight for some reason, although some days that's what I rock when I run out of time. I also LOVE to do fun braids. Thanks to Twist Me Pretty for teaching me your ways.

Stay tuned this week for tips and tricks, tutorials, and more. As always, feel free to reach out with hair care questions!
