You've probably heard the term "clean beauty," but what does that really mean?
If you haven't heard of Beautycounter yet, allow me to introduce you. This is a new partnership for me that I am so excited about.
Beautycounter is dedicated to getting safer products into the hands of humans everywhere. The number of chemicals we expose ourselves to on a daily basis is kind of insane. In the United States beauty industry, no laws have been passed to regulate ingredients since 1938. In the European Union, around 1,300 ingredients have been banned from personal care products. In the United States, we have only restricted use on 30 ingredients.
While Beautycounter is a direct sales company, which believe me I had my hesitations about from negative past experiences with other companies, their mission is so much more than shoving product down your throat. When I first met with Ellie, this awesome rep here in Indy, she said "I don't even care if you don't buy a product from me, but at least now you have the education and knowledge that there are safer options available in this industry."
Beautycounter products do not contain those 1,300 ingredients that are restricted in the European Union. They have an entire ingredient glossary on their site, too. I was able to play around with their Flawless in Five promotion as well as the Ocean and Pacific Palette. The Flawless in Five promo includes your six staple products to get you ready in 5 minutes or less. The Ocean and Pacific palette has an array of shadows, a highlight, a contour, and a blush. Take a look at this quick 5 minute makeup tutorial for more details on both.
What are you trying to do to eliminate harmful chemicals from your life? I'd love to know in the comments!
