Face Mask Review

Much like a bear in hibernation, I find myself writing about anything and everything that can be enjoyed inside right now. Perhaps I am just preparing my body to be cold during our ski trip next week. Either way, today I am sharing the details of my favorite face masks with you.

First up, these Merle Norman face masks all rock for different reasons. I use them all on a regular basis to detox, clarify, reduce pore size, and pamper myself.

The charcoal mask is great to deep clean those pores. You use an applicator to apply, let it dry for about 20 minutes, and peel it off. It does actually peel off your skin and I won't lie, that part isn't the most comfortable as you do have hair on your face. However, as the saying goes, beauty is pain (sometimes). This is the case here as this mask leaves my skin feeling so refreshed.

I use the Bubbly Mask on the mornings when I have a bit of extra time as it helps to even my complexion before I put on my foundation.  It smells like grapefruit and bubbles on your face as you apply a thin layer. The antioxidants in this formula help to soothe, condition, and improve clarity.

My skin type is normal to oily so the Clarifying Clay Mask is perfect to eliminate excess oil on my face. The Kaolin clay helps minimize the appearance of pores and provides a deep clean. I use this mask 1-2 times per week followed by my nighttime skin care routine.

The 3-2-1 Facial Kit is one I received in January from Eva Maison. I am so in love One Love Organics and this set is amazing. The Brand New Day Microderma Scrub + Masque can be used as a cleanser or a mask. To cleanse, you simply combine with water. To mask, you can combine equal parts with yogurt to exfoliate or organic honey to moisturize. I follow up the mask with the Skin Savior Wonder Balm that deeply moisturizes and smells heavenly.

Sunday Riley products are amazing. They can be pricey, but they are a brand that's worth the price. I love the Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask for those weeks where I eat entirely too much chocolate or am just stressed to the max and experience a break out. You can check out my full post here with Sunday Riley.

Aside from all of the above, Lush Cosmetics have fresh, natural face masks also. Many of them are available in store only because they must be refrigerated. The Don't Look at Me mask is one that I have personally used and loved. It exfoliates and leaves my skin feeling refreshed and polished.

Doing a face mask at least once a week, is so important to the skin care routine. Find one you love and be open to trying something new too.

Here's to flawless skin!
