You know those crazy days where you have a 9am meeting, 1pm phone conference, and 6pm dinner plans with friends? No time to change and you need to look professional but appropriate for happy hour. That seems to be my life more often than not these days.
Thankfully, I work in the fashion industry and don't have to wear business attire everyday. But for those of you who have a crazy schedule like me, here is an outfit that works well for your entire day.
All you need are a few basic pieces. First, everyone should own some kind of trendy black blazer. One that's easy to throw on over any kind of top so it can be dressed up or down. You also should invest in the Portofino tops from Express. They are my go to for business professional and business casual.
Of course you'll need some kind of bottom. With this look, I chose to be a bit more casual with a distressed grey jean. You could also do a black cropped dress pant or a dark denim (minus the distressed) if you need something more business oriented for your work environment.
Finally, I paired my favorite classy maroon pumps to give this look a little color. They also happen to match my purse perfectly. "Business" is so often thought of as boring or drab, but it totally doesn't have to be that way. Shoes, accessories, and bags are an easy way to add that finishing touch with a pop of color to a business casual look.
Hopefully this helps you plan your outfits for the work week that lies ahead of us. Can you sense my enthusiasm? Have a great week all!
